Focus Group

3 years ago, I did a survey for teens with epilepsy between the ages of 14 and 18. We wrote a survey in a room about epilepsy awareness and ways to inform the public of a rising issue. I thought it was a little weird that we had to write it in a room with 100 people but I also realized that people were much worse off than I was. The questions really made me think about how epilepsy sounds and looks to people who have never been exposed to it. I do think the questions were effective because they really helped put me in the shoes of everyone around me and truly understand how they react and feel about the situation.

Why I Bought my Pull Out Couch

Before coming to college, I purchased a bed-chesterfield (pull out couch) for my apartment. At the time, I wanted to have a couch and a place for my parents to stay when they came to town but I didn't have enough room for both. I looked into getting a futon but they aren't as comfortable and it is hard to have two people on a futon. I knew that bed-chesterfields costed more money but they also provide more comfort as a couch and a bed compared to a futon. I knew I wanted people to be comfortable when they stayed over. Also, If I have comfortable furniture, I thought I wouldn't feel the need to go out as much, which costs a lot if you are doing it on a regular basis. I decided to purchase the couch and I've actually used it more than I thought I going to. After buying the couch, I did think i might have spent too much but after three weeks of school, I'm sure glad I have it.

The Importance of CREST D within the marketing environment

One key thing I learned about this week is  marketing scans and how vital they are for detecting threats, trends and opportunities for a business' future. The areas that a marketing scan looks at are; demographic forces, economical forces, technological forces, socio-cultural forces, regulatory forces and competitive forces.  Demographic forces look at a group of peoples characteristics, economical and physical, to help decide how and who they should be marketing. When looking at economic forces, marketers focus on the consumers ability to purchase product. If the economy is going to decline, marketers know that people will not be as willing to purchase inessential items. Technological forces help marketing staff determine where they should be trying to market so that more potential consumers will look at their product. When looking at socio-cultural forces, marketers focus on cultural ideas, values and attitudes that are shared within a group of people. Keeping up with r...

What are three important things i can do to be successful in this course ?

One thing that would make me successful in this course would be to make sure I do all of the online work. I noticed in the presentation that alot of the work realizes on the online content. Another thing that will be key is to make sure I read the chapter ahead of time. the most important thing for me in particular would be to STAY ORGANIZED. I have had difficulties with organization in the past and that is something I need to improve on to be successful.
